On Monday 9th March, we will be starting the challenge of the Big Pedal 2015. We are trying to get as many children as possible to come to school on their bikes or scooters over the next fortnight. Every day, we will count up the number of pupils who have travelled to school on their bikes or scooters, and they will be awarded points. Staff, parents and older and younger siblings can get involved too. If you or any member of your family come on your bike or scooter, you will collect points for your child’s class. Dr Bike will be around, looking for children wearing helmets and awarding spot prizes.
As part of our push for more cyclists in school, we will also be offering a Dr Bike Clinic on the morning of 16th March. Dr Bike will carry out a free comprehensive bike safety check on any bikes brought to school that morning. Please see the flyers around school.
He will also be offering a beginners’ cycle coaching session for Year 2 pupils on the afternoon of 16th March.
So come along and get involved. For further information on the big pedal, visit www.bigpedal.org.uk.
