Religious Education

Lambton Primary School is non-denominational. Religious Education is provided within the framework of the local Agreed Syllabus and in accordance with the 1988 Education Act. Collective worship, which is mainly Christian-based, is held every day. We also have assemblies from visiting clergy from a range of Christian Denominations.

Parents have the right to withdraw their child from Religious Education and the daily assembly. Please contact the head teacher to arrange this and to discuss what alternative provision will be provided.

RE at Lambton

Children have weekly RE lessons which cover the major world religions. They focus on the 3 elements of RE: knowledge and understanding of religion, critical thinking and personal reflection. The RE curriculum provides children with a rich cultural, moral and spiritual understanding of the world. Children take part in a variety of activities such as the following: discussions, retelling, Bible study, art and educational visits to places of worship.
