School Lunch

Parents may choose to give children a school lunch, a packed lunch or take their child home for the lunchtime period.

School meals are cooked on the premises and are very popular. There is a wide selection of healthy food available to choose from each day. Specialist diets are available for children with medical or religious needs (although children with a nut allergy are advised to bring a packed lunch).

The cost of a school meal is £2.00 per day or £10.00 per week, payable on a Monday in a sealed envelope with the child’s name and class written on the outside.

Some children will be entitled to a free school meal. Details of this and application forms are available in school, from the civic centre or via the hyperlink below.

If you wish your child to have a packed lunch, please could you ensure that it is packed in a box with the child’s name labelled on the outside. We encourage children to bring a healthy balanced lunch, and for that reason, please do not pack sweets or chocolate. For further details, a copy of the packed-lunch policy is available from the school office.

All children are given a drink of water. Children may bring in a drink of juice. No glass bottles, cans or fizzy drinks will be allowed.

Requests for changes to packed lunch or vice versa can only be made at the end of each term by sending a letter to the school office. Other changes are at the discretion of the head teacher.
