Lambton Gym

Lambton Gym is a scheme run by Mrs Dyson where the pupils in year 5 lead a variety of games and activities every lunchtime for the younger pupils. A limit of 25 pupils attends Lambton Gym indoors once a week; there is no limit to how many attend outdoors.

We reward children with house points and stickers for good behaviour and listening to Lambton Gym leaders. There is also a Lambton Gym Star of the Week.

The team leaders enjoy the responsibility involved in organizing events. They have met as a team to agree on events and individual roles. The leaders decide which pupil will receive the Star of the Week certificate, which is presented in assembly by the team leader.

How will it impact the school and its pupils?

By training the pupils and creating Leadership opportunities, we will be working towards the following:

1: to increase leadership opportunities;

2: to help increase physical activity in school;

3: to keep lunchtimes fun and active by organizing, running and leading a range of activities for children in all age groups.

The structured activities at lunchtimes have a positive effect on behaviour at these times.
