The Triad of Schools

The Triad of Schools

Lambton Primary School

Blackfell Primary School

Oxclose Primary Academy

There have been many changes in the education system over recent years and one of the most noticeable has been the reduction of influence of the local authority in their ability to support school improvement.

The intention is that this partnership will provide impetus to drive up standards and impact positively upon teaching and learning and the outcomes for all learners. Schools will be supported and challenged to be the very best they can be.

The ‘Triad’ of the three schools; Lambton Primary, Blackfell Primary and Oxclose Academy was formally established in September 2015 and launched with a joint meeting with school leaders to promote the wide ranging opportunities it offered to all its stakeholders. From this launch it is hoped that the Triad will gather momentum to become an integral part of our school improvement programmes.

The effect will be felt most at leadership level to provide challenge about the quality of teaching and learning in the classroom and in exercise books; the outcomes for pupils through internal data and RAISE; the relevance of the school improvement plan and the accuracy of our self-evaluation through the SEF. The programme of challenge will be established and refined over the next twelve months and be a key element of our school improvement work. Governors will be involved and updated of this process, and sharing in joint meetings/ inset will be at all leadership levels.

Teachers will have opportunities to work alongside one another in different settings to take in new ideas and strategies. Subject leaders will work together to support middle leadership across all subjects. As the partnership develops, it is hoped that the office, admin and premises staff will closely support each other with new ideas, policy changes and appointment of new staff.

Children have shared exciting learning opportunities by visiting their other schools to take part in cluster festivals and events and we hope this can be extended in the future.

The Triad represents an exciting opportunity and a way forward to impact on the work of all three schools and continue to provide the very best for all children in the partnership.
